Our first Yellow Heart Charity Market took place at Green Heights Mall on November 30th. The Yellow Heart Charity Market is an initiative of Poppies and Wonderboom to provide a platform to promote the various charities, social enterprises and NGO’s operating in Kuching. Its purpose is to provide information for those who want to find out more about the different community groups operating in Kuching and how they can support our local community. Shoppers were able to start their Christmas shopping early and support the local charities, social enterprises and NGOs who had set up booths. A selection of commercial vendors also took part in the market. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the commercial vendors was donated to this year’s donation recipient, The Dyslexia Association of Sarawak.
The event was a great way to kick off the Christmas season. We were able to participate with the community in giving with grateful hearts and spreading the love in Kuching.
We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who participated in the Market. We were able to raise more than RM2k for The Dyslexia Association of Sarawak from donations from the commercial booths and Yellow Heart T-Shirt sales. Each individual charity, social enterprise and NGO was able to fundraise for its own cause. Thank you to the management of Green Heights Mall for allowing us the complimentary use of your lovely space. We are looking forward to running this event again next year.
